Mercedes-Benz Finally launched their latest hybrid electric car products officially with the launch of Mercedes-Benz C350 Plug-in Hybrid at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. This is the second model of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle from Mercedes since the first launching of S500 Plug-in Hybrid three years ago.
Not the same with the S500 which uses V6 engine, Mercedes-Benz C350 Plug-in Hybrid rely on the four-cylinder engine 2.0-liter from C250 that combined with electric motor. Engine power will produce 208 hp, meanwhile the electric motor provides additional 80 hp, with torque up to 599 Nm.
As an electric car, this car uses electric motor with battery lithium-ion with power 6.2 kWh and weighs 100 kg which stored in the trunk. Charging the battery fully usually takes 1 hour 45 minutes using an electric powered 240V / 16A with the distance as far as 31 miles using only electric power.
Mercedes-Benz C350 equipped with the 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission that has been updated, Mercedes-Benz C350 Plug-in Hybrid can accelerate from 0-100 km / hour in 5.9 seconds. Regarding of efficiency, fuel consumption is about 47.6 km / liter!, it sounds incredible isn’t it? Mercedes-Benz C350 Plug-in Hybrid will be marketed under the name C350e in sedan and wagon variants, and can be ordered officially in the next few days and delivered to customers in March 2015.
